Welcome back to PDC!
Today we’re going to give out some awards to the remarkable people and ideas in our community while we sum up the year. This article was very much inspired from DebateDecoded’s college version, check it out for more!
Affirmative Awards of the Year
To start, we have awards to various affirmatives the community has innovated throughout the year.
Most Sustainable
Adak. Core of the topic military aff starting in camp with several teams bringing it to the TOC, and even into the elimination rounds (BVSW PC).
Most Random
‘Build a court in Alaska.’ No relation to the topic at all but very interesting. No idea what the neg is going for when it’s new (Sonoma KL).
Funniest
Confractus (Mamaroneck FS). Welcome to the world of debate!

Logistics. All versions of it. It was a core camp aff but should have ended there.
Most Untopical
New Trier MPAs and LASA ASW. Not even a question. I don’t think anyone knows how these got by.
Team/Individual Awards
Now we have some team awards!
Dishers
Pace GM. When you think conditionality, you think Zaki and Arnav. Of all their affirmative rounds this year, condo was 35% of the 2ARs. They’re so committed to the dish that they have uncondo bad AND dispo bad ready. They truly are the negative counterterrorists.
For Reference Warrior
MBA HL. There’s plenty in every round doc, particularly affirmative.
New Gen Team
LASA BC. From the Quora Impeachment CP, to 12 card T-Politics, to LD tricks and hidden phil gobbledygook, they never failed to impress. The success doesn’t lie so they must’ve been doing something right!
Unc Team
Carrollton GM. Always going for the core of the topic arguments. Not a single process 2NR the whole year. Love to see it.
Most New
GBN CR. Nordic Cohesion DA, European Autonomy DA, Consistency Determination PIC, Shabbat Procedural, and many more.
The Miners
We have a tie between the two best T-Minerals teams. First is Campbell Hight from Washburn Rural CH knocking down several of the top teams for lack of minerals in the 1AC. Second is Res Seibels from MBA JS, a day one miner.
Longest Texts
MBA HL. Remand CP ALONE was 125 words. About 10% of every 1NC was just counterplan texts. Remand CP for example…

Best Comeback
Whitney Young MB. Faded the entire second semester. But they made octafinals of the TOC AND two speaker awards so clearly something worked.
‘Best’ Wiki
MBA’s Fox Travis and Enno Brandes (MBA BT). Skipped from tournament 4 to 7 because they are just that good.

Most Perfect Wiki
Greenhill HL. Never missed a round, open sourced, and good formatting.
Best Kritikal Team
With so many this year, it’s hard to award one. But one of the most successful and appraised is Newark Science AO with top performances at every tournament.
Best Small School
Among many successful small teams, Calvert Hall has got to take the cake, taking third at NCFL.
Goofiest Team
Mamaroneck FS with a tub of shenanigans for every debate. Each one is a mind bender from wipeout, hidden gobbledygook theory, to reverse Boltzmann brains.
Most Formal Team
A tie between Taipei American and Bellarmine always showing up in suits. Respect.
Travellers
Our friends from Taipei American School take this one travelling from Taiwan for nearly every major. Maybe jetlag is a performance booster (Taipei YH)!
Topic/Season Awards
Here’s just a couple miscellaneous awards.
Most Notorious/Popular Card
Easily U.S. Code for T-Minerals. Shout out to LASA for being ahead of the game with U.S. Code 26. First ones to find it!
Best Tournament Host
Majors are famous for having unique ways of creating hospitable environments. The award, however, has to go to the Southern Bell for the exquisite food, local help, and special goody bags.
Conclusion
