The latest coaches poll showcases a shake-up at the top, with Berkeley Prep RV claiming first place with 24.22 points, edging out a competitive field. Berkeley Prep RV won the Michigan tournament and finished in second at the Glenbrooks. Westwood AB and Greenhill CL follow closely in second and third, each receiving two first-place votes. Westwood won the Glenbrooks, and Greenhill CL was one of two teams (Greenhill BH) that closed out Blake. Peninsula LL and Liberal Arts & Sciences BS rounded out the top five, both with great first semesters.

Several programs saw remarkable ascents in this poll, reflecting a very competitive year. Liberal Arts & Sciences BS made an impressive leap to fifth place with 20.6 points after winning St. Marks, while Montgomery Bell SJ climbed from 12th to eighth after their semifinal run at the Glenbrooks. Head-Royce AP emerged as a rising force, moving into 11th place. Glenbrook North CR is also quickly climbing, finishing in 16th. The substantial movement in the poll shows how much parody exists this year. In fact, no team has claimed more than one first-place finish at an octafinals tournament.

The second semester should be exciting, with the Southern Bell Forum this coming Saturday and Emory at the end of January.

Thank you to the coaches who took the time to turn in a poll, especially over the break.
